OHPV: Oregon Human Powered Vehicles

A family event celebrating the joy of riding recumbent Bikes and Trikes

Recumbent Retreat Updates:

As of August 18, 2021, our pre-reserved campsites are almost sold out, with only 2 campsites still available. Online registration has been closed. Please contact our Wagon Master directly about a site.

We will accept participation registration in person at the Retreat ($15 per person or $25 for family) for those with their own camping or overnight plans, or those attending for just a day. There also were a few registrants who are willing to share their campsites with others. You can contact our WagonMaster with any camping questions at rrwagonmaster at gmail dot com.

Event Details:

Our 22nd Annual Recumbent Retreat will (hopefully) be held September 9 to 12, 2021, at Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon, USA. We hope to see you there!!

Picture Gallery:

Includes photos and videos from some of the Rides, the Pot Luck Dinner, the Lighted Bike Parade and other happenings during past Retreats.

Brief History of the Recumbent Retreat:

Connie McAyeal started an event in 1999 called “Oregon Human Powered vehicles (OHPV) Campout Weekend” held at Fort Stevens on the northern coast of Oregon. Thirty one people participated in that first retreat. Connie ran the event alone for 4 years until the fall of 2002 when the first committee was elected. Connie remained active with the event until 2008, coordinating “a poker run” and “a light parade” as events, and organizing the T-shirt and Coffee mug sales
