[OHPV-list] Way off topic but I'm still employed

For those who know where I work, yes that was my company that burned to the
ground in SE Portland last night.  Taylor Electric Supply.

But, our company occupies two buildings, and I work in the one that is still
standing and ok.  The one that burned was not our main warehouse and the
office only held about a dozen employees, warehouse about a dozen as well.
Other 50 people work in the main building/warehouse.  We are off work today
because of no power to the building and too smoky inside.  We'll hear this
afternoon whether we go back tomorrow or Monday.

 

It was real weird to watch on the news last night.  About 5 years ago, my
office was in that building.  This is going to cause some major changes in
our company, but I guess life really is about change.  It will go on, just
be different now.  We'll see what happens.

 

Think I'll go for a bike ride and check it all out.
