Dave & I have signed up to be Route Safety Volunteers again (last year they
called it Corner Marshalls).  

Looks like they still need more volunteers.

The 2006 LIVESTRONGR Challenge Portland is exploding into town on July 30,
2006! Due in great part to the success of the LIVESTRONG Ride Portland in
2005, the event has grown into a nationwide series called the LIVESTRONG
Challenge. The LIVESTRONG Challenge features the signature LIVESTRONG Ride,
but provides the addition of a 10K run and a 5K run/walk. This exciting
addition allows people of all ages and physical abilities to participate and
raise funds to inspire and empower people affected by cancer.

My name is Mark Meikle and I am the Route Safety Lead for the LIVESTRONG
Challenge Portland. I'm very excited about this year's event and hope that
we can count on your volunteer support again. I want you to know how much
the LAF values your past participation in the LIVESTRONG Ride Portland and
the incredible support you've shown the LAF over the past year.

With the added activities of the LIVESTRONG Challenge, our incredible
volunteers will be even more vital than ever to our success. Portland's
volunteers have always been the very best, and is now a model for the
LIVESTRONG Challenge events across the nation. Let's show them all how it's
done!

With the LIVESTRONG Challenge Portland quickly approaching on July 30th,
we've got our work cut out for us. I am confident that with your support and
involvement, the event will be a tremendous success.
