[OHPV-list] Ride of the Gods

I did Bridge of the Gods on Sunday.  It was quite pretty, and I only had 
to deal with a couple spring showers.

Here's the route I took:

It's pretty much Jeff's standard, run of the mill BotG ride, except that 
in Washougal, I turned north on 17th avenue, and took the Washougal River 
road instead of immediately getting on SR 14.  This was a good way to go, 
quite pretty, very low traffic, and a much easier grade to climb.  It 
joins back up with SR 14 just after Cape Horn, just as it's starting to go 
back down to Skamania.  The downsides are that it's a few miles longer 
than SR 14, and that you miss the lovely overlooks of the gorge (though it 
compensates with a different kind of scenery).  But still, worth 
considering.  I'm looking forward to riding that road again after 
everything has leafed out.
