Hi Steve ~

Welcome to the OHPV Digest.

Need more info for as long wheel based recumbents can handle more crank set
tooth range than short wheel base bents "SWB". Meaning, there can be a
difference with the angle of drive chain travel vs the length of a
derailleur cage. As an example I ride a long wheel base "LWB" Gold Rush. I
used a selection of 26x39x53 on my TransAm tour last year. My front
derailleur is a Dura Ace triple.

Another question we need to know - are you upgrading a little bit or want to
go to the top of the line component? Bear in mind you need to stay loyal to
matching the front derailleur to your shifters. One can sometimes get into
trouble with incompatible issues when mixing road components with MTB. This
rule is especially noted when using XT or XTR shifters with Dura Ace front
derailleurs.

Just let us know what brand of bike - SWB or LWB and the brand of shifter
you plan on using.

Note - I would not recommend use of a Dura Ace triple derailleur with XTR
shifters unless you have a strong thumb;-))

later ~
