Cyclists needed to help with Girl Scout camp activity Sunday, August

13 from 12-3 PM.

 

5-10 volunteer cylists and their bikes are needed for a Girl Scout

activity on bicycle systems. The girls are participating in an

engineering and design program at a camp in Hillsboro, OR. The

curriculum uses bicycles to illustrate simple machines and components

and systems. We need several different bikes for this activity and

thought it would be enriching to have the cyclists themselves there to

talk about the features of their bikes.

 

There are 44 girls ages 13-17 participating in the program.

 

The program is held at Camp Mountaindale located off of Dairy Creek

Road in North Plains. It is a nice ride out from Portland or

Hillsboro.

 

If you are interested in participating, please contact Ruthe Farmer at

rfarmer at girlscouts.org. Of course lunch will be provided for

volunteers.
