A new Easy Racer Carbon Fiber fork and threadless steerer tube would
bring it close to 24 pounds. Todd Marley has had his GR down to 24
pounds without the CF fork, so it can be done. My aluminum Bacchetta
Corsa is 24 pounds and can carry a Terracycle midship rack with lots
of gear for touring, so it's really not that big of a deal. A light
DF racing bike can't handle any gear, but a 23 pound DF touring bike
can handle tons of gear. Seems like apples and apples to me (bent
weight vs DF). One more thing to think about, is Calfee still making
the Steleto? I thought when Freddy left they stopped production. I
could be wrong though. The Carbon Easy Racer is due soon. shoot
Freddy and email, I am sure he would give you the production date and
the specs.
