[OHPV-list] Lost Creek

Hi everyone,

Back at the retreat at Ft. Stevens, several of you expressed interest in a 
Lost Creek camping trip, up on Mt. Hood.  I put out the possibility of the 
weekend (including Friday) of September 16,17,18.  Well, that date is 
approaching, and though it's a little showery today, it looks like things 
are going to be nice through the week, and hopefully into next weekend. 
It'll be a little chilly, but that'll just make sitting around the 
campfire nicer.

So, once again the plan is to ride out Friday morning, and take our time 
pedalling the 60 miles from Gateway up to Lost Creek.  We'll arive with 
plenty of time to set up camp and make a nice dinner.  We'll have Saturday 
to shoot the breeze, go hiking, explore the campground (there's a nifty 
little nature trail), maybe bike up Lolo pass, or whatever you want.  Then 
we'll pack up and ride home Sunday.

People who have expressed interest are Kirk and Kathi Johnson, Laura and 
Terry Minor, Dave and Edna Van Gundy, and Mike Porter.  Any of you still 
want to come along?

As I stated in the original invitation, everyone is welcome.  Some folks 
have brought up the possibility of sagging some or all of their gear, 
which would be fine.

A new wrinkle is that Carolyn has a class during the week through Friday, 
and so won't be able to join us until Saturday.  If some or all folks 
wanted to just do the ride as an overnight, then they could keep Carolyn 
company on the way out on Saturday.  If this is everyone's preference, 
then we'll all go Saturday.

So, if folks are still interested, drop me a line, and let me know if you 
want to ride out Friday, ride out Saturday, or if you are planning to 
drive out either day.  Obviously, if I'm wrong about the weather and 
things turn out lousy, then we'll cancel the whole expedition and do it 
sometime early next year.
