[OHPV-list] [CycleOregon] Re: Labor Day weekend rides?

Hi Diane - looks like I will be riding with you tomorrow, but Dave will
not. If you don't have a carpool yet, how about I pick you up? We live
just up the hill from you, at 58th & Holgate. (I don't think my bike will
fit on your car, but your bike will fit in our van)

We did a nice ride today with the bent group. Some left from Elsie and met
the rest of us at Timber Junction, then to Vernonia, with brunch in
Birkenfeld, then back to Elsie. 56 miles short route, 71 miles long route.
We were on the route that C.O. will be taking from Timber Junction to the
turnoff back to Elsie. (CO will keep going towards Astoria instead of
turning to Elsie.) Anyone doing CO is going to love this stretch of the
ride. It was beautiful. And very little traffic too.

I plan to ride a shorter version tomorrow too. Since most of you are in
tip-top shape for CO, you are riding stronger and faster than I am. We
already did our tour this year, and my training went to h... when I
sprained my ankle. Our ride today was the longest I have done since June.
And I can feel it. So, I am probably only going to ride as far as Indian
Henry (if that far). Then turn back. The rest of you will probably still
catch me before we get back to the cars. I think a few of the OHPV group
may also be along. No idea how many. 3 or 4 or 5 maybe?

Let me know if you want to carpool. 503 771 3778

Edna

I, for one, am not planning on going further than Ripplebrook - at my riding
speed, that would be a greater time commitment than I want to make.

Yes, Faraday is where the private road begins - on the right had side of the
highway, a mile or so outside of Estacada.

Karl, I am coming from 36th & SE Johnson Creek Blvd. (very close to the
beginning of the Spring Water Corridor). If you are not too far away, we
could carpool.
