I sent the following email to Richard & Nancy (ride leaders), but have not
heard back from them yet.  I am guessing that if they leave their place
about 9:00am, they could be at Grand Central at 22nd & Hawthorne about
9:45am, but I don't know if they will ride this way, or not.  We may know
more later this evening.  I'll keep you posted.

I have been doing some checking, and most of the bakeries that I know (knew)
about, are closed.  Or at least the phone numbers have been changed or
disconnected.  I'm sure there have to be more, but I know of two for sure on
the east side with one maybe.

 

Grand Central on SE 22nd & Hawthorne open from 7am to 6pm.

Helen Bernhard on NE 17th & Broadway open from 8am to 3pm

Ruby Mountain on SE 47th & Belmont open noon - 6pm (this is the maybe)

 

Anyone know any others on the eastside?  Three others that I know are in
business, are not open on Sundays, so no help for tomorrow.  So where would
you like to start?  And which direction to go?  Maybe across Hawthorne Br to
Grand Central Baking.  Then back down to Eastside Esplanade to Springwater,
to ??? 205 path or out to Gresham?, to Prescott? or Marine Drive?, back to
NE to 17th & Broadway to Helen Bernhard, to downtown to Ken's Artisan
Bakery?  If you leave Richard & Nancy's place 9am, about what time would you
get to Grand Central?

OK folks. We riding Sunday now. Start time is 9:00am. Meeting at my place,
2020 SW Edgewood Rd, Portland. Ph. 503-224-3840. Be there or be square.

We'll be touring between bakeries - mostly on the east side of Portland,
with a final stop off at Ken's Artisan Bakery in NW 21st, before the
penultimate ride up to Council Crest. We'll probably go about 30 - 40 miles,
and maybe it'll take 5 hours. Time and distance depends of how much eating
we do. This may end up being a make it up as we go ride. Nobody gets left
behind. If you don't want to leave a bakery, we'll pry you out!
