Greetings OHPV Folks and Sister Sprockettes!
Tweety-Marilyn here.
Tomorrow is supposed to be another great day, weather-wise. I'm moving to a
new home on November 22nd, and this may very well be the last decent weekend
that I get to ride before my move and before winter kicks in, so I am going
to head out to Estacada and ride to Ripplebrook Ranger station. I'm
repeating Dave Van Gundy's birthday ride to a "T". Join me?
I will be at Faraday Dam, in the parking lot and ready to ride at 10:00 a.m.
I'd love some company, but regardless, I will be there. The Aero's on the
rack, the clothes are laid out, the CamelBak is filled in the fridge
alongside the PB&J sandwich.
For anyone who hasn't been out there, take Highway 224 out to the town of
Estacada. As you leave the busy Clackamas area, 224 will fork and you want
to bear right, towards Carver/Estacada and stay on 224. Then, once you're
miles away in downtown Estacada-proper, bear left at the Molalla turnoff
where 224 again forks (do NOT got towards Molalla), start watching for the
Hydro Electric/PGE sign (not a big one - kinda brownish and non-descript)
and the turnout/driveway on the right side of the road. The sign is where
the road starts to bend left, about a mile out of town past the Molalla
turnoff. If you go up (and up and up) over a long hill, you've gone too
far. I'll be in the parking lot, wearing a big smile and packing my camera
to get some good fall color shots. It oughta be GRAND!!!! .
My cell is 503.810.5286.
I hope to see a few of you out there!
