[OHPV-list] Soggy Peach in a Blasting Gale

Hi all,

I started the day wondering cylocross or peach? The Cross Crusade
started this week out at Hillsboro Stadium. I decided the peach
because (I thought) I would stay dryer and get more miles in. If we
would have been riding in the mud it would have made for an epic
cyclocross day!

I headed out with Kieth, John W, and Todd. Great to see old friends.
Somewhere between the start and the first rest stop John and Todd
stopped for a mechanical problem. I was having some issues myself as
I chose the Toureasy clone and was not use to the upright position,
using different muscles. Keith and I waited at the first rest stop a
while, but then continues on. We hooked up with Bill (Strada owner
from Tigard) and continued on the 100 mile route. At the 1/2 way
point I was wondering why I had to pt out so much effort just to go
19mph. Is the Bacchetta that much faster? I checked my tire pressure,
40lbs in the rear. Diane and I will get together and check each
others tire pressure before each ride! After I topped up to 110 lbs
it was the usual 21 to 24 rage. The return back was a blast, even
with the showers! Coming in to the College parking lot the rain was
so intense I could not see but 2 feet in front of me. Much to my
surprise I passed my van. Hey, were back!!! Had some pie and headed
home.

Oh, one more thing. If anyone gets the "lightning bolt" moniker it
should be Keith. Man that guy is strong! Thanks for the company Keith.
