Thought I'd share my Tweety-esque humor with the rest of you. There was a
post on the Bacchetta Forums with a link to a guy's blog where all he does
is mindlessly drone on about his hatred of high racers, in particular
slamming Bacchetta. It is a major rant page, let me tell you... anyway... I
was tired, I'd had a beer... I write poetry a lot anyway and sometimes the
old creative juices just roll... so here is my (sort of reply) post on the
Bacchetta site, for your amusement. Sub your brand of bent for mine,
wherever appropriate...

Cheers!

---- from the Bacchetta Forums --- Yes, I have WAAAAAY TOO MUCH time on my
hands...

With all the nasty things said about Bacchetta on with that high-racer rant
blog, I went into a deep and mysterious depression over the purchase of my
Aero. Had I indeed been duped by advertising? Was I doomed to fall over and
break my hip? Was I going to suddenly gain massive amounts of weight, sprout
facial hair and miscellaneous new-to-me body parts and become... gulp... a
Fat Old Guy??????? I shook in trepidation. I nervously eyed my sales receipt
and consider a return. Then... after my second Black Butte Porter FULLY
kicked in, I had an epiphany... and I became, praise Bacchetta, a true bent
believer again as the words filled my brain and I wrote the:

Recumbent Psalm

My Bacchetta is my ride choice, I shall not hurt.
It carrieth me, pain-free, past bright green pastures;
It flieth like an Aero beside the still waters.
It restoreth my butt.
It taketh me on the bike trails of the world, in great joy
and without the need of chamois cream.

Yea, though I ride in the valley with diamond framers
I will fear no hill; for my recumbent is under me.
My granny and my recurve seat they comfort me.
The event-coordinators preparest a table before me in the presence
of the diamond frames.
The support crew anointeth my drive train with Tri-Flow;
my CamelBak runneth over.

Surely tailwinds and chipseal-free roads shall be with me all the hours
of my callous-free rides, and I will fly like the wind, past countless
diamond frames,
on my lovely Aero... forever.

Amen.

Cheers! 'nother Black Butte, please!
