Hi Guys ~

We are in Springfield MO. It seems we are with constant mechanical issues
with the six bikes. Think about though - they have been treated as MTB's
often on this tour so what can one expect. We all are in constant healing on
the road also with butt rash, tendonitis, muscle strain, sunburn, and some
mental weiriness. Forunately we all support each other and give space when
needed. The hot humid hilly route 66 tested our worth with the rough roads
and never ending hill climbing all across the whole damn state. I for one
will prefer the boring plains with cross winds for higher milage days. But
then I grew up around here so it wasn't like a first time see for me.

Mechanicals have included new rear trangle for Norms fold Rush, New chain
for Hans, New pedals for Norm, currently new rear hub for Syds Aero Spoke.
Things like this is to be expected when the loaded heavy cruisers are
wearing components out faster than light duty club riding.

Food is where you want it. It can be expensive or cheap depending on the
resource. Either way everytime I eat it seems it eats up a $10. bill. Bike
eating is like $2.00 gasoline it seems.

We are moteling it a lot - to avoid rain. We've been lucky so far but I fear
our luck will diminish as we near the great plains.

I now see old familar plants, animals, birds, that I grew up with in Okla.
We now pass dozens of road kill armillilos, skunks, tec.

Computer time running out

see ya

Edna pass this email on please to the OHPV group.

I feel so fortunate to be experiencing this tour. I reconize that I'm truely
am a gifted cyclist.

I only hope any of you will have the opprotunuty to do so in the future.

Hey Lonnie,

How is the ride going? Any unusual stories yet? How about flats? I saw
the the woman dropped out, was surprised to see that. How is the food so
far?

We have had thunderstorms last two days here, is supposed to clear for the
weekend. It has been going from sun break to pouring rain, like for for
Noahs Ark type pouring rain.

Our team practice was awesome, it was incredible how unified the group is.
Am really looking forward to RAO, of course would be better if your two were
here. Say Hi to Todd for me.

Dry Roads and vacancies,

rand
