The Warriors think it is a great idea for the group to ride out to meet
them. I don't know what time they'll start. They tend to be on the road
about 9am, unless it is going to be real hot. Then they tend to start early
and end early. I'll see if I can find out what time they plan to leave.
When we did the shakedown overnighter with them, in April, we left Cascade
Locks at 10am and got to Troutdale about 3pm (I think) Definitely not fast.
I'll ask them about the stairs part, and what time they plan to head out.
I won't be able to join you on Saturday. I have a prior commitment bowling
in a tournament in Kelso, Wa. But I plan to head over to Lonnie's house as
soon as I get home. And it looks like Dave will be on call this weekend, so
will most likely only ride out as far as Crown Point, so he will be able to
be close to work if needed.
Later

I don't think they'll have any problems with the old highway (except maybe
the stairs on that part of the bike path) after biking over the very steep
hills in the Eastern U.S. and the mountains of Colorado with all that gear.
They could always skip the stairs by doing that part on I84 (and so could
we).
Also I think we should leave at 9am and hammer out to Troutdale and go out
to meet them as early as possible (unless they're planning on getting a
later start from Hood River). I'd like to get additional miles in training
for Bicycle Idaho.
